#BlogchatterA2Z challenge and NaPoWriMo-2022
Prayers are personal and intense pieces of poetry, don’t you agree? They are full of intense emotions, vulnerability and so full of love and longing.
As part of today’s Intuitive Poetry, presenting before you is this Prayer Poem written under the heteronym character name, Faiza.
Faiza’s prayer is simple and innocent. Introducing, Faiza, through her prayer:
I remember my ammi telling me fireflies glow where love dances in glee she was right; I have seen them fly on early summer nights, under the starlit sky —when the night jasmine’s scent, gentler nudges for us to breathe deeper— made our night chit chats, longer adding up to memories, fonder Fireflies were the stars that came dancing down Ma shaa Allah, it bejewelled our dark little silent town I have whispered prayers secretly as they glowed I believed, they carried them to HIS abode in our shaded verandah that faced our garden we have seen them glow in a shade, golden Ammi told my eyes ever twinkled in their presence I know now ‘twas only a reflection of hers, in essence yet tonight, what looks like many moons later the stars seem to have distanced forever with my nights getting lonelier than ever tonight, my prayers are simple for HIS might all I wish is for fireflies to return at night Insha Allah
All that matters in prayer is its purity; it’s that which makes it poetry.
